NOTES

The Jays became the first AL team to top 200 runs (204) this season and are now averaging exactly six a game.

On the Jays' 3-2 road trip, Vernon Wells, Adam Lind and Aaron Hill each hit safely in all five games.

Cito Gaston came away with admiration for A's left-handed pitcher Dallas Braden yesterday. Braden was struck in the first inning on the hand and shoulder by a line drive off the bat of Wells. Braden stayed in and went six innings, allowing three runs on nine hits. "He's got a lot (of respect) from me," Gaston said. "... He showed me something out there."
